how should legs be on puppets? And what is the best way to set up arm rods?

I just build the body and put a sort of slit mid back going across. I see that the majority of puppets are just torsos. I like making full body. I was just wondering how you all deal with full body. I heard that some puppeteers have puppets with detachable legs.I just want to do it the right way and I am not sure what that is. I have had success with my way however I want to know how you all do it.

Ok I am just starting with armrods. most of my puppets up to now don't have them. What is the best way to connect them? Where should they be put on? I use coat hangers right now attached at the wrists. Sometimes I have problems with the arm movement. Is there a certain way to fix arms so they move more freely? I stitch the foam across the elbows that seems to help some. So what do you all do?

If you could send pictures or links I would appreciate it. I am trying to learn all that I can to make the best possible puppet. Thanks.

I suggest that you get the MONSRTO" pattern from Project Puppet. Has a great pattern for a body that has arms and legs.
You might want to get the patterns from PROJECTPUPPET as previously said by Jim Menke. You can also go to Swazzle.com and search on their blog for the tutorial on the puppet "Ratchet". They show the entire puppet making process of the puppet. Very interesting. Check it out.
thanks for the tip
Take a look at the pictures on this Russian site. There are some "blueprints " more if you will push "следующая глава" button at the right bottom corner. Good lick with Russian ;-)
