Puppet Hub

A global network for professionals, amateurs, and people who just like puppets.

I have 3 emails encouraging me to click on them for a "Free 27 inch laptop computer" & they mention my group, Out Front with My Puppet in 1 & then the other 2 mention groups here where I'm a member.

I came here 1st to see if the messages were explained here.  They're nowhere on Puppet Hub.  I believe these emails are spam or even malware.  Unless somebody knows otherwise, I want to warn people to avoid clicking on the hotlinks.

I just recieved an email about "Good credit, bad credit no credit at all" with a Puppet Hub heading on it. As I do with all trash emails, I deleted it. Be carefull everyone.

One other thing I didn't mention is that even the Properties lists the email as coming from Mail@PuppetHub.com.  I've alerted our Admin, but this isn't your average Spam if it's spoofing the address that way.

I agree it pays to be careful.

Me again.  Just got that Good Credit, Bad Credit, No Credit at All email.   That subject line is more obviously spamming.  My concern on the 1st 1 was it might be a fund raiser for this site.  Now I'm wondering if it's related to the recent email hacking of the records of a lot of emailers.  Hate to blacklist PuppetHub, so I guess I'll just delete them.

Hi Hubbers,

We've recently had a few spammers sneeking in (it's really tough to tell from some of the requests we get for membership) and some of you have received solicitations or bogus emails because of it.  Please be aware and careful.  If anything seems a bit weird, it probably means it isn't legit.  In the meantime please message me if you notice any unusual activity and I'll check into it!

Thanks!

I joined Puppet Hub recently.  My first true e-mail was a spam--from loveNelly--appeared to be a pick-up love  letter---turned out to be a Congo finance scam.  What the heck?  I hope this person has been removed from the site.  Kind of a shock!  but whatever--won't deter me from hanging out with you all...

I started this late 2011, and had no issues with this site mentioned.

Seems mostly the standard if it sounds to good to be true - asks to check a link from a person that rarely sends email are the most common scams I have seen this year.    Nothing I link to here yet.

Any well known computer anti virus or beyond software can keep most out.   Most things they catch are cookies - which are both good and bad types - several are used for storing info that helps you with site navigation.   Others are seeking to see what advertising you they want to show you.

I have seen the type of thing with advertising through Google sometimes has the ability to tap in to facebook or such - terms of playing free games allow such.

Many current Internet Systems Microsoft Explorer 8, and current Firefox 8 - have a private browsing mode - which blocks saving of all such cookies and attachments to web sites - good for looking at a site you are not sure of.
