Hi Brett,
Just the thought of a pre-made globe sparked an interest in this as a possible puppet. Went to SonShine & thanks for the suggestion. They have some really interesting things at reasonable rates. Unfortunately I couldn't find that globe puppet. They may have closed it out.

Hey folks! I just saw this thread. I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier. The SonShine Puppet Co. sells a globe puppet. You can contact them at http://www.sonshinepuppetco.com. I hope this helps!

I puppet, probably mostly "head" (if not all head) that looks like a Globe...all the oceans...and continents...

Living near U.S. Toys, I can find wonderful things like the globe key chains..

As a harp player(harmonica) I play and sing He's got the whole world...
I put in globe puppet at Oriental (a great source) and so far nothing yet.
love brother harris...

Those links didn't show up. I'm doing something wrong when I click on the link icon. Go to http://www.orientaltrading.com. If you put globe in their search box you'll find a lot that's irrelevant, but also the options I mentioned.

Hi Harris,
Do you mean a puppet that has a globe for a head or body? Normally I'd think that was a typo for glove, but that's unlikely based on the rest of what you say.

Probably a novelty supplier like Oriental Trading Co. should be a help. Specifically at
I see some small options for heads: keychains & pencil sharpeners, & bouncing balls or, slightly bigger, stress balls.

I am looking for ideas to make or places to by a globe puppet. Thought of paper machie, but thinking I want more flexibility.

Ideas appreciated.

I was sharing with a walk around bit at a Fishers of Men's Celebrating Urban America with one of my marionettes. The shadow created by the main part of the control was in the form of the cross. It reminded me to remeber that I have an audience of "One." In my younger days my EGO (edging God out) took over my performing. These days it is different. God is good all the time. All the time God is good. That is His nature.

Took my latest nearly normal puppet out for a test drive. This was during bible time at a churches preschool. We were talking about the 10 commandments. I used a puppet made from a toy shovel, bright colored puff balls for eyes, pencil sharpner nose. Puppet had to have help from the kids to understand things like his wanting his friends new cccccccooooool toys, or telling lies so he wouldn't get in trouble. The puppet's potential name is Sam Spade. His favorite response after the kids set him straight....is of course...I can dig it.

I use mostly hand puppets in my work with the kids on Wednesday Night Church. On occasion I use ones I make. An example was the one I made using a toy rake, duct tape and a "mouthy mouth". For the young ones, it is important to be able to get them to quiet down after the puppet does something extremely silly. We go from the very serious moments to extremely silly. When I first started out it was difficult, these days a whisper from the puppet can be as affective as a loud sing along. God is Good ...All the time....All the time, God is Good..It's his nature...love brother harris
