"We did a show there and the puppet was hanging in the archives. I took it out with permission of the director and had to open all the screws on the control because the wood had swelled up. Then it worked like a charm. My own replica works perfectly…"

Rapid prototyping / heads generated on a computer

Hi everyone!



I am currently investigating the use of rapid prototyping techniques for creating puppet heads. Using a program called zBrush one can virtually sculpt each and- anything using 3d mesh techniques.

The great advantages are that one can save earlier versions of a head and go into a different direction, you can change the scale of the heads, and you can see how the lights affect the sculpture while still in the program.
