Sam the Lovesick Snowman

Posted on November 19, 2008 at 5:19pm 0 Comments

Sam the Lovesick Snowman opens at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta Tomorrow. This is an adorable show! The puppets are rod, hand and rod, and a bit of shadow. It's definitely worth checking out! If you want more info, please go to www.puppet.org. I'm stage managing the show, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Hope everyone is doing well!

Another AJC article...this was the review!

Cinderella meets P.T. Barnum

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The genius of Jon Ludwig, so cannily on display in his new Cinderella-comes-to-the-circus marionette show at the Center for Puppetry Arts, is his ability to make adorable puppets operate with the same unprincipled guile as human beings.

This is not to say that there isn’t plenty of sweetness and charm… Continue

Hooray its Amy! Thanks for tipping us off on this cool site. I loved that video you up about your new show. What was that funny song playing behind it?

Hello Amyguru,
I love that puppet, Cinderella Della. One of my first influences at the age of 10 was the Little Angel Marionette Theatre in Islington in North London, and their production of The Litle Mermaid. All their marionettes were carved by John Wright who ran the theatre, and designed and clothed by his wife, Lyndie.
It's on http://www.littleangeltheatre.com/lat/
Best wishes,

Haha, that song was so funny. He should make a whole CD of that stuff. You going to the festival this summer?

Amy , have you come into contact with British puppeteer Robin Stevens yet? he relocated to the US over a year ago and was trying to make contact with others - he's a top guy :)

Hi Amy, hope I clicked the right link and am now your friend! I missed you on my last trip down to Orlando...but it sounds like you've moved on to some great new puppet opportunities! The Cinder show slides are great...very nice design...and the music! I used to play Super Freak in a band (not quite the same way though...sax, not kazoo!) Your page looks excellent....I bow down to your html/design prowess! Glad to be you friend!!

I did the Florida trip early this year. Now I'm in the process of painfully birthing a new show. So not much performing at this point...just a lot of banging my head against the wall trying to create something cool. I'll try something very ambitious here and see if I can embed a video....if so, here's the main character, Super-Atomic-Robo-Puppet, practicing walking!

I thought it might not be that easy! Here's a second try.
