When I saw videos of the Royal Deluxe troupe, it was all I could do to keep from running away from home and joining them. You are so fortunate to have seen them in person. I had a great time building our puppets. We have a good venue for that sort of thing- we built a Timber Frame stage we call the "Folly", after the Victorian Architectural Folly, on our land in West Virginia. We have a summer of performances there- music, plays, childrens events- it's not a commercial venture- informal, and just for our community. If you ever get to the Washington DC area, come and visit- we're only about 100 km west of there. I remember London fondly, but it's been 40 years since I was there. My Grandmother was born there. Regards, Bradley
I wonder how Royal Deluxe is organized... as a business? as a non-profit? are they all retired or wealthy? are they subsidized? We're just about to organize the Folly as a non-profit foundation, after 17 years of just doing it. I funded the whole puppet operation out of pocket, but it damaged me a little- I'm not wealthy.
