I think I briefly met you at the regional festival in 1994, I'm pretty sure you at least had some puppets on display. Do you do any regular shows or anything up there? I live 3 hours downstate, and would love to link up with some Chicago area puppeteers when I visit up there.

The 94 festival was in Troy, Michigan. I am planning a trip to the Chicago area mid May, would be great to meet any fellow puppeteers up there. I should know exact dates soon, I will let you know.

Wow. They missed out. Not sure if they even had a full penny on that thought. I know his talent was a beautiful thing. I remember Fred talking one time to Jimmy and I early 70's. He stated that Jimmy's talent to create such moving charectures and My ability to write such moving music, that we should never let anything get in the way of our growing advancing those talents. I always felt that I failed his advice as I never really took that drive through. I still play and write but never really pushed it. Like Jimmy did. Sometimes wonder the what if's. Thanks for sharing that :)

Hi David,
We had a great turn out for the event. Lots of good pickins! DPG made $650
We did sealed bid, straght, silent and yes, our scotch austion. We have been doing it for years and when DPG hosted the 2002 festival, we brought the auction to Pokagon. we needed to raise money for the region and festival. It would be great fun to hold another auction at Pokagon. . It is always a good time for all. In the past we held the auction in February, but this year it was in May. It paid off because the weather was good and we had a large group attend. I will be posting pictures of the event on the DPG web site soon. Have you tried an auction for the Chicago Guild?
