Hellyer's Puppet Workshop is moving!

Hi all,

I know I don't post blogs on here very often... but I do try and stay up to date on the video side of things.

Below is my video diary of my puppet workshop moving house, all new videos on the topic will automatically be updated in this player. To date there are three videos available... but today is a brand new day so there'll be more this evening :)

Take care - Dave

Hell-Vet?... What happens when the Hellyers meet the Gluvets?

Phil Fletcher (The Gluvets) came to stay with us for a weekend in January and it was a great laugh. You may have seen the last video we made on the weekend already (The GREAT puppet building RACE 2009), if you haven't yet - you're missing out :)

Below you can see the first human puppet I ever built (Pierre) erforming with the latest puppet Phil had built (Paul Pott). The "performance video" is not exac… Continue

Puppet Building race!

This past weekend we had Phil Fletcher from the Gluvets visit for a weekend of puppet building and banter! Phil last visited in late 2007 and has been a good friend of David and Shelley over the past few years. You can see from the video below that we had quite a lot of fun. Check out some of the characters Phil brought with him on the visit.

Thanks David, you've been a big inspiration. I watched your videos when I was just getting interested, and all this was just a small inkling in my mind. Thanks for sharing and posting your videos, you seem like a really cool person.

Dear David,
Thanks for adding me as a friend, England is one of my favorite countries, I love English history, and English puppetry. I was last in England almost 30 years ago. High time for another trip. Your puppets look great, I work with marionettes but appreciate great puppets of all styles.

Hey, David I saw the video dicussing eyes. I'd like to see the girl have an eyelid edge with an eyelash like this:

The guy could have the same thing minus the eyelash with an eyelid of a different colour.
