I'm just getting back into puppetry. I hope to do shows for children in hospitals, and maybe for birthday parties
What First Got Me Interested in Puppetry
I took a puppet making class at Children's Fairyland in Oakland when I was 12 years-old. When the class ended, Dorothy Hayward asked if I would like to stay on and apprenticed (weekends) in the theater. I did so and worked under she and Tony Urbano till my last year in high school.
My Puppetry (or Puppet) Hero
Bil Baird, Burr Tillstrom, Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Tony Urbano, Mike & Francis Oznowicz, Lettie Connell Shurbert, Luman & Arlyn Coad, Wolo, of course Pinocchio.
If I Were a Puppet, I'd Be...
Grover from "The Muppets" And if not Grover then Fozzie, the Bear.
More About Me:
I was a professional dancer for a number of years, working in Las Vegas. I graduated with a degree in Theater Arts. I moved to So. Cal and worked as a costume designer and worked on wardrobe crews for theater, film and television.
I’m still in the fledgling stages of forming my company. More to come!
