What First Got Me Interested in Puppetry
My fascination with puppets began with the television I had growing up. With shows like "Eureeka's Castle", "Under the Umbrella Tree", "Allegra's Window", "Puzzle Place", and all things Muppet - I was instilled with that sense of wonder at a very young age.

My first puppet project was in college... We created a puppet of our Freshman Seminar instructor to host a video tour of Pittsburgh. It was at that point that I knew I had to keep going with it.

Ok...

Here's the deal. I travel for a living - limiting my life to two suitcases, a backpack, and a messenger bag - BUT I'M ADDICTED (hence the title of our blog). I NEED to be able to work on my craft while traveling, but its not easy! Essentially I travel with a mobile puppet workshop so that I can get my fix on the road -

Which brings me to the point of this post...

I started this week with just a head - then challenged… Continue

Yeah! I was there, sadly, more than a year ago. I loved that place. It seriously is the reason I want to make a trip back to Atlanta. I'm thinking about participating in the National Puppet Festival there next Summer.
DFTBA!

Hey Kyle;
Thanks for getting back about your puppets, again great job. One question though, what do you use inside the head to secure your fingers?
In the past we have used cord or foam tubes but they start falling apart after about 10 shows. I have talked to people involved with Avenue Q about what they do and am just wondering about your technique. Thanks
