David C. Herzog said… Great pictures Elly, I'm glad to see people posting pictures of the exhibiits at Festivals. They are not at this time planning on having an exhibit at the next National, as they don't feel it's enough of a draw to expend resources on. Silly in my opinion.
Charles Pillsbury III said… I second what Dave said. Thanks for posting pics of the exhibit at National. It was a great trip back in time this morning to see them all again.
David C. Herzog said… I don't think they are basing it on any collected data. We have not had any trouble getting pieces for the last three exhibits. I think it's more just young people not undersrtanding the importance of the exhibit. There has been an exhibit of various sizes at every National from the beginning. We had some of the best pieces ever at the National this summer. I'm very partial to the exhibit, as I have had the good fortune to learn from exhibits at National Festivals since 1969. I just feel the exhibit is one of the most important parts of a Festival. I also am partial because I have had the good fortune to help set up the last three exhibits, and it has been a joy to work with some great historical puppets. Just my 2 cents worth. Thanks again for posting the pictures.
