Long and sordid and very love/hate. Mostly, though, I write now. Sometimes.
What First Got Me Interested in Puppetry
Honestly? Inspiration from Jim Henson plus rebellion against my parents for making me transfer to UConn...
My Puppetry (or Puppet) Hero
Um, Jim Henson. Also Frank Oz and Jerry Juhl. Also a few of the folks out there in live puppetry today, but it's been so many years since I've seen any of them perform, I'm not sure I can legitimately claim them. And Bart. Roccoberton.
If I Were a Puppet, I'd Be...
Bert, without question. Though, actually, now that I think about it, Fozzie, too.
More About Me:
Well, I went to UConn and got a BFA in Puppet Arts a number of years ago. That didn't seem quite different enough on its own, so later I added an MFA in Screen and Television Writing (USC). These days, when I'm not sitting around wondering if I might be able to find a good doctoral program in basket weaving, I try to do a little writing and work on my evil plan to produce cute and clever video for children.
Hey there Gans- Been working on several things, but most have been financial failures, so my investor pool is drying uip... If you or Moe want to put $500,000 into anything, I can get you your first Broadway credit!
Yes, we're fine, although Jonathan, Ethan and my father-in-law were at a Hawks game at Phillips Arena when the tornado touched down, right there!!! Someone was obviously looking out for the Schlosses...
Thanks for the welcome. I have to get in touch with my publisher to correct amazon's wrong information. The book will be available on May 1st, and hopefully by the end of April. Thanks for checking
I think it is a very funny book that anyone even remotely associated with the arts will be able to relate to. Now, if only Oprah Winfrey mentions it on her show, I won't have to keep schlepping my stage until I'm 90!
