Thanks Bob. My client, Jeff Brown of Yay Now, designed the looks of the character. Executing his plan was quite the task. He was pleased with the results.

More About Me:
Homeschool mom
My Company/Troupe/Group
I build puppets for my church upon request.
School will begin soon, so puppet building will have to slow down a bit. I'm going to keep working on my building skills.
I very much enjoy and appreciate the puppet building community I've found on the internet. They have been so gracious with their comments and advice and I'm a better builder for it!
New focus this fall will be building with better materials, building for greater durability and translating an idea or sketch into a unique puppet which matches well it's intended purpose and appearance.

Making Over Old Puppets Offers a Chance to Exam Someone Elses Build Techniques

In the basement of our church lay a cupboard full of old puppets. When I asked the children's minister about what puppet he had he said they weren't any good. When I saw them, I saw possibilities. I like rehabilitating old things anyway - furniture, vintage clothes, my house, toys. I took a bunch home in garbage bags and ripped them apart and redid them or just cleaned them up a bit so they were useable. The perk with reworking these puppets is that since the puppets came from multiple sources,… Continue

Oh ok. But cool, it sounded like fun! And a potential project? Has it turned into an actual one yet? And really? I didn't really have time either, I was considering entering. I'm hoping someone makes a peacock for the contest. Honestly, I think that'd be awesome! And I bet it was, it's always nice to take a break from school!

Hey Puppet Lady!
How are your latest building projects going?
And, out of curiosity, did you ever finish your David Pannabecker pattern puppet?
Hope all is well!

Thanks. I tried that before but only with paint, not sharpie so I'll definitely have to give that a try, as well as the template which makes complete sense. I think that will help a lot with the clarity. When I tried that technique (similar at least) I actually used clear plastic spoons so it's funny you say that. I think I'll keep experimenting with that then since I've now seen how nice it can come out. Thank you so much!

In a way I guess, at least, he's turning out to be.

He's one of my favorites, and I've been working on him for almost a year now...I was soo close to getting the eyes I needed to finish him just this past month, but when I ordered them, they hadn't updated their website so it fell through. I've been looking for white plastic easter eggs that split long ways but I just haven't been able to find them.

Actually, that brings me to a question I've been meaning to ask you. I've been admiring the new irises I've been seeing on your last two puppets. I completely understand if you can't share the info on how or where you made or got them, but I would love to know. I've been searching for decals big enough that look exactly like that but have been unsuccessful, and have been able to do some decent work with paint, but not clean/sharp enough to use. Even if you'd rather shoot an message rather than a comment, would you be able to share that info with me please?

Thanks for your interest. I'm excited to be able to share this common love with so many people that enjoy the same fun(ny) hobby. I hope to finish the new "Zombie Baby" soon so I'll keep everyone posted.

Hello PuppetLady -
I'm about to build my first human puppet and I'm looking to dye a flesh color fleece and I really like the color you have for your human puppet picture #34 in your pic files above. Can you tell me what color or recipe you used to get this shade of color??
Thanks - Ran
