i would say that after making a few of these ,that if you make the arms to short, you cannot get the range of motion necessary for good manipulation. also,if you make them to long, they tend to buckle,…

And mainly a religious questioner. I am thinking of working on some different puppetry art productions that look at religion or look at parts of a religion that have been ignored or changed.
I am quite open to all, but whether I offend this person/group or that person/group or any other person/group, I am not the problem. I have learned that I can not always please everyone - or sometimes even anyone.
Cheers,
Phil.

I can't speak for puppitnut (and I'm very sorry for using his 'comments' section as a public forum) but i didn't join 'Atheist Corner' because I wanted to... well, piss in the cheerios, as the saying goes, of Christian puppeteers. I joined it because, as you yourself have pointed out, Christian-based puppetry does make up a large percentage of the art form, and as somebody who is both an atheist and a puppeteer, I feel that our number is an unheard minority. And so far, the feedback that I seem to have experienced is deep resentment at the fact that we're even here.
It's a pity, really. If we were discussing things like, say... foam sculpting techniques, I'm sure that we would get along famously. But because we've dared to identify ourselves as a (very small) group who are both atheists and puppeteers, your first reaction is to automatically question our right to even create our own community.
Ultimately, I think it all comes down to PR.
The importance of an 'Atheist Corner' community shouldn't be just to tick off the people in the 'CHRISTian Corner' community. The importance of the 'Atheist Corner' community should be that society should be at a point that a science/skeptical puppetry group shouldn't raise any more eyebrows than the Christian Corner, or puppetry based on Wicca (of which there are many) or Hinduism (also many) or any other group... But if we're just going to stay hidden and silent, that's never going to happen.
Again, Puppetnut, I apologize for using your 'comments' as my sounding board.
You think maybe, just maybe, the reason we have to keep comments moderated is because we don't feel like having a bunch of self-righteous jerks harass us in all of our comment sections?
