To hold the stage down in a wind, I've considered using jugs of water sitting on a strap that goes over the bottom rung of the stage. Fill the jugs at the venue, so you don't have to lug as much heavy stuff.

Looks like a good set up. Thank you for sharing it. I once made a portable chicken house out of pcv pipe. the problem was it sagged, it was too long, doesn't look like that is a problem with your cart, it looks great.
