Good luck Susan! I hope you get this grant. I would be great to bring puppetry to this many children who other wisw would not get the chance to see a live show. Hey all you puppet hubbers get on there and vote! It only takes a minute to sign up.
Mountain Marionettes is in the running to get a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to do puppet shows for struggling child care

Sorry I guess I was not clear. I have a small tub in my van with about a dozen filled sand bags. I don't give myself enough set up time to go looking for sand etc. They don't have to be big but the placement is important. Each bag is divided in half…
Wish you could guarantee finding stuff to fill bags wherever you go (rocks, dirt, whatever) as I didn't think about how jugs take space en route. Even my husband's thoughts about tent pegs don't necessarily work as sometimes you wind up on concrete.…

To hold the stage down in a wind, I've considered using jugs of water sitting on a strap that goes over the bottom rung of the stage. Fill the jugs at the venue, so you don't have to lug as much heavy stuff.
