Neoprene users,
If you’ve recently purchased neoprene from the other supplier, I’m sure you got sticker shock. Well, we offer four different rigidness formulas for $55 a gallon plus $12.50 shipping. And if you order 2 gallons ($110) it’s free shipping! Why pay $180 for two gallons when you can spend $110, that’s $70 you can spend on other materials. We realize changing supplies can be a headache, not knowing if it’s going to be the same. Well how about a pint of free…

Karagiosis Shadow Puppetry?
Has anyone heard of this? It's an exuberant Greek coffeehouse/taverna shadow puppetry tradition. Apparently nobody does it in the US any more, now that the post WWII generation of ethnic puppeteers has faded to black.
The National Hellenic Museum in Chicago, now in its new quarters, would like to revive the bumbling and none-too-bright Karagiosis, with his big nose…

The History of Puppetry
Puppetry is an ancient art that has survived for thousands of years. Records from the fifth century B.C. describe religious ceremonies in Egypt involving puppets. The records suggest that puppetry was not a new phenomenon. In ancient Egypt, long before the pyramids were built, and also in Greece and Rome, puppets were incorporated into religious festivals. At these times, puppets were exclusively for adult…

how to make a puppet stage
A good puppet theater is an invitation to play. Climb in. crouch down. and put on a show. Your audience can see your puppets but they can’t see you! The Puppet Theater is actually the Lemonade Stand. Like the Lemonade Stand. it is a complex project and can take a few days of hard work to finish. You’ll need to decide what color to paint it, what cloth you’d like for the curtain…

Puppets at Dragon*Con
For those unaware, Dragon*Con is a large pop-culture convention held here in Atlanta every Labor Day weekend for the past 25 years. It's more than just a comic or sci-fi convention and still has a very "fan driven" vibe to.
Last year Beau Brown, who some of you may have met at the National Festival this summer MC-ing the Potpourri, and friends started doing some short puppet videos of 'Bob & Carl the Sci-Fi Janitors' that played around the convention on the convention TV…
