Best Glue to use for Puppets?

Just wondering what people have been finding to be the best glue for puppets that doesn't take forever to dry?
Foam to foam?
and Foam to fabric(fur)?
Thanks.

I agree...contact cement is my weapon of choice. I've not used Dap, I use Barge cement, it's kinda hard to find around here, but it works like a charm. But again like the others said before, be sure to use in a well ventilated areas. I've even invested in using a 3M resperator mask($24 at Home Depot) well worth it. When I'm finished gluing (and you leave and can still smell the fumes...acccckkkk) When I use the mask, I can't even tell I've been around the stuff!! Make sure to use the right filter for the right application be it paint fumes, glue fumes, or after a dinner at your favorite Mexican restaurant......LOL
As puppetladyworkshop stated, I find one of the best is DAP Gel formula Contact Cement. Use a scrap piece of foam as an applicator. I used it for everything, not just foam to foam.
Another stronger adhesive is BARGE cement that is used in shoe reparing. It is a little harder to find.
These glues are flexible making them ideal for many applications. HOT GLUE is NOT flexible and can cause many problems especially with foam.
horses for courses as they say... it depends what job you're doing. For foam on foam I always use contact adhesive applied by brush (or foam off-cut). I find spray adhesive to be much less cost effective and pretty wasteful.
Depending on what you are making you can also use hot glue to attach two peices of foam together. My husband prefers contact cement, but if it is a quickie thing you may consider hot glue.
DUH!!! I just saw someone else already talked about hot glue...well I second it!
Thanks,
Yeah, I think I've been finding the same things to be true about glue that everyones been saying.
Hot glue isn't permanent.
3m is great, but I haven't found it good for anything with tension or that needs to be tight or stretched (at least on a large scale)
Dap Contact cement is great, i couldn't find the gel, but the original has been okay. Only thing is that it has been banned from California, so technically I don't think people are supposed to sell the ones in the red can,, so it's hard to find, and the green can just doesn't bond to foam at all.
I guess I should start looking for barges and that tacki stuff.
Thanks all,

Hot Glue is fast, doesn't hold up in the long run with foam. Spray adhesive is best.
hehe.. I love your pics Cher.. I'm saving that one off, printing it out and putting it up on the wall to remind me to not overdo the gluing!

I have a DunElm mill version of foam spray adhesive - not sure if its as good as the 3M version. I also have some dry mount.. the glue gun .. well I just get in a mess with that and it goes a bit hard and crunchy.. will let you know. I should do a proper scientifically controlled experiment....

Wy:)
Hot Glue, "Fabric-Tac", and a needle -n- thread (so far).
Fabric -tac is like a glue gun in a squirt bottle. I buy 2 and then cut the tips to a fine and med. size to control the flow. It's amazing!
