Relationship to Puppetry
Former UCONNer in the old days of the Sprague Hall basement. I'm part of The Small Actors Studio, LLC. We design and build puppets for others, and are working to produce our own programming for TV and Film.
What First Got Me Interested in Puppetry
I took a full time puppetry performance position with Blue Sky Puppet Theater back in 1989. It was supposed to be a way to just work as an actor and make a living at it, but after 5 years it kind of snowballed into Grad school at UCONN.
My Puppetry (or Puppet) Hero
I'm not really sure about this one. Mostly anyone who is able to combine good writing with a quality performance.
If I Were a Puppet, I'd Be...
Lately, kind of like Jeff Dunham's Walter. A big grump...

Thank you for checking out our site! The mod. was concerned about some of our language,so we had to create the "mature" thing.

Paper mache works really well for details no matter how small or intricate they are, but you need to be a mountain of patience :O)
You can count on papier mache to perfectly survive for decades...

Hi, Moe. Thank you so very much for your kind words. Indeed, I use a lot of paper mache. Most of my paper mache is hollow inside; I model the head in clay, create negatives from plaster and then layer by layer I do the paper mache inside the plaster mold. Lots of work, patience, but it pays off.
I could not help but falling in love with your puppets. As you could probably sense, I have a visible attraction towards animals which are the major source of inspiration when it comes to my character creation.
Good luck with producing your own programming on TV and Film!

Hey Moe! I long for the Furby days as well. Great money! Great fun! Great friends! I still peform, but not near as much as I used to. I finally sold my soul to the corporate devil, where I now oversee the Staffing & Training dept. at Universal Studios.
